Josh Ellis Greene
Josh was born March 21, 1972 to John and Lennis Greene of Boone, North Carolina. Even as a child, his devoted work ethic yet care-free humor were perpetually on display. Much like his father, Josh had an entrepreneurial spirit, and it wasn't long before he became a fixture at the family business (even with his "side hustles" of window tinting and concessions at the local race track). In 2000, Josh became the General Manager of Boone Lumber, and served it faithfully until his passing in 2021. Josh's life was marked with joy and laughter. Always the first one with a joke, followed up with the biggest smile. His impact and influence will continue and it is our goal to honor his memory as we carry on and serve as he did for over thirty years.

2022

Under the leadership of John Greene’s youngest son, Sid Greene, Boone Lumber responds to the rising customer need for profiled material by introducing a new WEINIG molder, expanding its material warehouses, and building a dehumidification dry kiln. Along with the improvements in facility and manufacturing technology, Boone Lumber is re-branded to support future growth and pay respect to its past.
